| The latest upgrade
to
RCM++ (4.0.1 or higher)
includes significant enhancements to the software's features and
functionality. This includes:
Change Log
RCM++ now allows authorized
users to activate a Change Log for a particular analysis. This log
records a history of each revision to the analysis since the Change
Log was activated and the specific changes that were made in each
revision. Depending on your selections, the log can record the date/time
of the change, the user who made the change, the type of change
(e.g. Add, Edit, Delete, etc.), the record that was changed,
the property that was changed, the value before, the value after
and the reason (or justification) that the user provided at the
time of the change. If desired, this utility can also be used to
store an electronic record of the users who have reviewed and approved
each version of the analysis.

history of changes that have been made to a particular record.
Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM)
RCM++ now supports the
Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM) analysis method that
is used in the automotive and other industries to evaluate proposed
changes to an existing design. This utility provides two views of
the analysis, one for the Design Engineer to prepare the
initial draft of the analysis and one for the entire Review Team
to expand on the initial draft if necessary and identify appropriate
corrective actions.

By attaching the DRBFM
to an existing FMEA, you will be able to transfer relevant function
descriptions from the FMEA, analyze the concerns that may have been
introduced by the change and then transfer selected issues back
to the original FMEA, if applicable.

Customizable "Tooltips" for Worksheet Columns
With Version 4, you can now provide
RCM++ users in your
organization with some additional instructions for the type of information
that should be entered into each column in an analysis worksheet
(FMEA, Control Plan, DVP&R and/or DRBFM). When this feature is enabled,
a "tooltip" appears when the user holds the mouse over a worksheet
column header. You can use the generic tips that are shipped with
the software or customize the tip files to meet your organization's
particular expectations.

Export as BlockSim "Fault Tree"
RCM++ now provides the
option to export your analysis information to an XML file that can
be opened in ReliaSoft's
BlockSim
software as a Fault Tree.

Important Note
About Database Modifications |
| Because
of the database and library modifications that were
required to provide the enhanced functionality in the
upgraded version of RCM++, users with the previous version
of RCM++ (3.X.X) will not be able to open the database
files (*.rx4) created with upgraded version (4.0.X).
In addition, you will be prompted to convert 3.X.X database
files before opening them in the Version 4 application. |
